Hello,
I have a problem, on Zeroshell the dhcp server is active and i's broadcasting to the device, but there is no portal. It requires to enter manually the zeroshell IP address in order to get the authentication page. then after putting the credential a re-directional to zeroshell logon.

What could be the reason and the solution?
Thanks for the help. I using ver. 3.8

thank you
Pierre

i'm not sure to understand your problem... can you explain in other words?

for the few words i understand in your sentence, i would say your dhcp doesn't give a default gateway (portal??), so your devices get an IP but don't know who to talk to

Hi,
I sorry concerning the sentence,
the dhcp on zeroshell is active and broadcasting on eth02.
the client computer get an IP address from the dhcp.
when I launch chrome or mozila there no redirection via the portal or connection to the portal.

does the client computer get a default gateway? if no, you have to configure your dhcp to make it give clients a default gateway

You're right, I think I do not understand zeroshell. I'm looking for a wireless lan controller, so I came across a tutorial on youtube, he said we can use it for a hotspot. So here is my approach towards zeroshell. My question: could I use zeroshell as hotspot?

Sure you can, but zeroshell is much more than simply a wireless router.
In this case, you have to install it on a computer with at least 1 ethernet interface (for your local network) and 1 wifi card. You may have difficulties to install the driver of wifi card, so using a wifi router (on another ethernet interface) would be quite easier (and cheap).
