|
|
I am new to the zeroshell router firewall world . I have installed the 1.0.beta13 image on a 4Gb CF card on an ibase FWA8206 . and from the console the appliance seems to have booted successfully .
Unfortunately I can't get the web interface to work . When I checked console and check the network setup none of the Ethernet interfaces seem to be available. If I try to assign an I address to Eth00 I get an error saying the interface is invalid.
The FWA8206 comes with Six Intel 82547L PCI Express Gigabit LAN interfaces. Are the drivers for this interface included in the image ?
I am not a Linux expert so any advice on how / what to check or do next would be appreciated ? |

| There seems to be no module loaded to recognize the NICs. You either will have to compile the module by yourself or report it as a bug so that it will be included in the next version. Although I am sure it will be included in the next version that will have a newer kernel. |

I have got a copy of the drivers (e1000e-1.2.10.tar.gz) for the card but when I run the make install in the extracted src folder I get the following errors
| Code: | root@zeroshell src> make install
Makefile:71: *** Kernel header files not in any of the expected locations.
Makefile:72: *** Install the appropriate kernel development package, e.g.
Makefile:73: *** kernel-devel, for building kernel modules and try again. Stop.
root@zeroshell src>

Can you let me know how I should compile the module
Thanks |

I was afraid you were going to point me to that . I tired this but am not a linux person so I was hoping there was a differnet option.
I'll try this again with hopefully some help from google on how to do the steps that are "not described here" |
