Restore Profile Problem

I backed up my R10 configuration 3 separate times. I then upgraded my ALIX to R11 and attempted to restore the profiles. Each one started to load but then stalled.

In the end I had to re-enter the configuration. So either the backup process was flawed or the restore.

I used firefox 2 on Linux to do the transfers.

Setup Firewall Problem

While re-entering firewall rules I got an odd situation. One rule - in FORWARD - was to jump to a custom chain for processing. I entered several rules like this but one rule appeared to work but lost the -j custom_rule part. I tried a variety of ways to enter it / edit it. Eventually I got a way to get the rule in by not setting interfaces and then editing them in. It happened on only one rule out of several.

Logging Firewall Rules only on reboot

Logging of firewall rules only started on power/off and power/on. Simply applying the rules didn't work. I experimented with the shell and 'service iptables restart' but this was not good.

Unexplained Halt

I ran the system for around 24 hours and got an unexplained freeze. I had to power cycle the device. I was not running the HTTP Proxy.

I am running the system again now and will try and see what happened via the serial port.

I have been running the B11 system for several days now. On average it stays up for around a day before failing.

Monitoring on the serial port it appears to be running out of memory. I get a lot of messages such as below. In the end I have to restart it.

I did not get this type of failure in B10.
