It is very well described in the subject. I think it would be helpful for all of us who use hard disks to have a monitoring system of the drive on the web interface, as well as some configuration option such as which drives to check, where to send email and which script to run.

Munin and phpsysinfo are good for monitoring. I am working on getting Munin working.
