I was thinking that a possible better option for doing bonding would be instead of using round-robin bonding and the linux bonding module would be to use pppoe/mlppp instead? Since you are encapsulating layer2 via usage of a VPN I would think it would be possible to do MLPPP which would correctly fragment packets over the VPN connections instead of the round-robin which causes problems due to the packets being out of order.

Anyone think this is possible? I am not sure if you can do mlppp (as a server) on linux so I am not sure how I would set this up but I would think it would work in theory?
