Hi,

a 64-bit kernel is available for Zeroshell 3.0.0, 3.1.0, 3.2.0 and 3.2.1.

The 64-bit Kernel provides the best network performance on modern 64-bit architectures.

Many processes such as

- Firewall
- Routing
- Bridging
- Traffic Shaping
- L7 Filters
- NAT

will take advantage from using a 64-bit kernel. This Kernel is also able to use more than 4GB of RAM as the PAE Kernel.

Regards
Fulvio

When I try to install this kernel I get the following:

Quote:
Checking for previous installed version of 49000:Add-On ...
No previous version installed

Checking for incompatible packages for 49000:Add-On ...

>> ERROR: the package 48d00 is not compatible with the package 49000

48d00 is not currently installed, but I think it was a kernel package that was superseded by a release. Occasionally I get this error when trying to install kernel packages, but not all.

I can install 48b00 without any issues but I cannot install 48e00.

On release 3.2.1

---------edit

Never mind, I found the "killer" script in /DB/_DB.002/var/register/system/AutoUpdate/pkgs/48d00/pkg/

49000 now installed fine

Hi t3mporal,

would you mind sharing what exactly you did to get the 49000 working?

Nik

Hi all,

just talked with Fulvio about the above issue. He removed the incompatibility tag from the 3.2.1 repository.

All I needed to do after that was to click the check button and then install the 64bit kernel (49000).

Worked fine.

Great work Fulvio!

Regards,
Nik
