Hello,

I want to tell thank you to Fulvio (and the team?) for Zeroshell.
Very great system.

I puted a 3.0.0 on a CF card. Working very well, i made a AP with private wifi and public guest access with captive portal. Made a simple firewall rule to block my private network and voilą.

In a second time, i asked for a serial number to access updates.
I puted directly the 3.3.2 version with no problems.

I wanted to put new kernel 3.18.11 kernel (with dependance of Firmware and Microcode).

Drama. No boot...

No problems, i opened my CF on my linux server and modify grub.cfg and options files. And voilą ! Back to kernel 3.14..

Now with Alix 2D3 :

Img 3.0.0 for Alix => update to 3.3.2 version (with kernel 3.14) => updates : 23321, 40310 and it is right.

I addes this scripts on pre-boot :

Code:

#mount -omand,noatime,uid=havp,gid=havp,size=50m -t tmpfs none /Database/var/register/system/havp/tmp
mount -t tmpfs -o size=64m,mode=1777,nosuid,nodev,exec tmpfs /tmp
mount -t tmpfs -o size=16m,mode=755,nosuid,nodev tmpfs /var/run
mount -t tmpfs -o size=16m,mode=755,nosuid,nodev tmpfs /var/lock
mount -t tmpfs -o size=64m,mode=755,nosuid,nodev tmpfs /Database/LOG
mount -t tmpfs -o size=16m,mode=755,nosuid,nodev tmpfs /Database/var/register/system/mrtg/counters
mount -t tmpfs -o size=32m,mode=755,nosuid,nodev tmpfs /Database/var/register/system/mrtg/html

to preserve CF card writes limits.
I commented the first line (i don't use havp for now).

Hope i can help someone here.

It seems that using tmpfs for logs preserve ram.

log on cf card : about 8000k free.
log on tmpfs : about 18000k free.

No use of patch 40310. Deactivated.

OK CF is boring for log. Memory decrease.

I found a 40go HDD and putted a alix 3.0.0 img for alix in it. Edited last partition to max. Boot on Alix OK, upgrade to 3.3.2 and restore profile.

All OK and memory is more better now.

EDIT :

Added a second swap file (1G) on DB directory and launched on pre boot.

New install with ssd 120Go msata drive on a ide adapter.

Using zeroshell 3.3.2 for usb.

Installing it on a desktop, import of my used profile on compact flash, install SSD drive in alix, recreate 1G swap file, reboot and enjoy !

Adding a cron every day like fstrim -v /DB.

Hi,
my vendor ships to me alix with ZS 3.0.0 preinstalled and say that it's the latest versione with compatibility and stability on alix 2D13, is it true or can i upgrade from package manager to 3.5.0 with newer kernels?
