Hey all,

Specifically I am looking at how everything is organised and how packages are supposed to be configured both on the GUI side and the filesystem side. What I have gleaned so far is that the .zips are a collection of shell scripts which use some sort of template to place binaries and configs /DB/_DB.001 which I assume is the default or current profile. Inside of that directory is:

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 10 2014 .settings
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Aug 30 17:59 LOG
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 May 5 2006 etc
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Jan 20 2008 var

.settings appears to be where profile paramters are stored like Activation and Backups.

LOGS is pretty self explanatory and keeps archives of all the logs for varous programs in the format YEAR/MONTH/DAY/zeroshell/APPNAME

etc just seems to contain ssl certs atm but not sure if that is because no other dynamic configs are supposed to live there.

var seems to be where all the action is happening and all the installed packages symlink from /opt to var/register/system/AutoUpdate/pkg/<pkgid>/

But how there are organised after that how libraries are installed is not clear though I noticed that:

root@zeroshell lib> ldconfig -v
ldconfig: Can't stat /opt/lib: No such file or directory

So I am assuming that they can live in /opt/

Of course some proper developer documentation woudl help and/or some sort of guide to do with packaging. It occurs to me that Zeroshell could have access to a lot of very useful apps by virtual of it being Linux based. I know pfsense leverge their BSD base for most of their packages so don't see why we cannot.

Thanks in advance.
