Deal all,

I just bought an ACU box and installed ZS with more or less no hickups.

The weird thing is that I'm not able to access remotely the box although I can use SSH (to me it means the dynamic DNS is working).

I've set up a no-ip account

I'm connected to internet with PPPOE via ETH02

I'm not home to double check the correct path and, if I'm not wrong, from set up/web page I've enabled the web access from ETH02.

Any hint?

It is possible to update the system using the shell with an ssh connection?

Thanks

I never enabled/used remote web access for security reasons, but as a workaround I can suggest setting up VPN to your LAN, connecting to the remote desktop in one of the machines and from there using the browser. This is my preferred method of remote administering ZS.

thanks DrmCa,

i have to study your suggestions and if u know good tutorials especially rwgarding linux server remote desktop connection pls forward.

main questiin so far:
the only pc that is on all time in the local network (home) is a linux ubuntu 16.04 server with no x11 server. does ur workaround still work?

by any mean, do u know how i can 'turn on' a web remote access to the ZS machine?

cheers

Hi,
I use similar setup, I am using a linux laptop to VPN `home` and works great.
You do not need a secondary computer, once you VPN into zeroshell device you will have access to internal network, so you can open a browser on your remote computer (ex laptop) to ZS internal faced Interface.

i read a bit yesterday about VPN and saw it is feasible understanging my misinterpretation.

I do still have a couriosity/question

- why at home i can browse example.no-ip.org redirecting to zeroshell but it doesn't work remotely?

anyway, thanks for the support so far

Is this approach a bit less secure than RDPing into another machine and opening the browser from there? I thought that way there was another layer of security authorization protecting the admin UI of ZS.
