I’m not sure if ppalias is trying to be helpful or not. But i’ll try to explain it better than he did.
DHCP clients use a broadcast 255.255.255.255 over their respective network.
Basically every machine hears that request for a dhcp/bootp.
How does the DHCP server determine who gets what ip address if you use just IP alias on a single interface (eth00- ip addresses 192.168.10.254, 192.168.20.254, 192.168.30.254)….I have to ask
1) what subnet are these gateway ip address in?
2) what dhcp scope are you trying to give to their client pc’s?
3) and how do you want this all accomplished?
