MemberI am not a Linux Admin and will have great difficulty configuring Asterisk.
Is Asterisk accessible via a Web Interface just as AsteriskNOW is?
If not, are their plane to include an Asterisk Web Interface?November 7, 2008 at 4:13 am #47106uniquegodwin
MemberHi,
This place is a zeroshell firewall forum….so,i’m not sure if you would find many people who know about asterix here.

ParticipantAt the moment Asterisk is included as external package and you need to manually configure the file in the directory /etc/asterisk.
I am going to build an Asterisk web interface as soon as possible.Regards

MemberWAHOO!!!!
That is great news.
I just downloaded and printed “Asterisk – The Future of Telephony – 2nd Edition” and it is 604 pages of cross eyed reading.January 30, 2010 at 11:09 am #47111zerotester

FulvioMore than one year after release of 1.4, any news?
The Asterisk has moved to 1.6 or even further with 1.8. It would be great if we could catch up with the pace. Or would be more better give some hints/notes on the compilation of Asterisk in Zeroshell.

MemberI’m a bit curious as well. Is there a future with Asterix and Zeroshell?

MemberDespite Fulvios statement that he is intending to write one, i do not think that it necesarily should be included.
Zeroshell is an excellent router/fireewall/vpn box and i cannot see any relavance to it being an asterisk box aswell.
Indeed i would certainly run asterisk on a seperate machine or virtual machine. There is no benefit of running asterisk on your zeroshell edge router.
My feeling is that concentarting on routing/authentication functions would be better i.e.
OSPF
ntop integration
snmp
More configurable radius
pppoe serverWhy do you want asterisk on it?
