MemberHI Everybody
Thanks you for all the greats informations we can access to on this forum…..Iam new here but I now I think I can help to tune it up more…..
Now…..my problem is that i have to manually do in Zeroshell web interface:
Setup > Profiles > Backup (or backup without log)
to downlod the backups of all my profile.
My question is if there is any way to do it by a cron jobs (in the Startup/Cron tab) so I can choose some hours that Zeroshell will automatically launch the backup and the backup without logs.
If somebody can help ….it will be a pleasure……
Thanks….

MemberHi Guy
Thanks for the Reply……..For your question……we want to do it for security purpose of our database…..let me explain:
we chut down our server for around 9 PM and start it around 8AM……in the past months, we lost two times our recent data cause at the startup the system, the hard disk system was corrupt……or a file system error……we have then to reinstall Zeroshell and back it up to our latest backup file……..
to prevent that situation and able to be up again quikly with the lastest backup file possible, we decide to do an automatic back up at least three times per day………..
So I hope it is possible to do it by a cron job…….Thanks

Participantwhat database you’re speaking of? the zeroshell logs??
i still don’t understand why you would need to backup the profile daily… profiles are not supposed to be changed so often…October 26, 2017 at 1:38 pm #54596kingmpsel
MemberHi
Sorry if you misunderstand any part of my last post…….take it all on me….fun….here it is……
for the most of the time, we use them for the accounting database of our users………but the logs are important for us too cause we use them for statistis and analytivs purposes of our local network…….
Thanks…

Participanti think you shouldn’t use the logs in this way… it sounds pretty strange to me, and the scalability may be a problem too
What about the connection tracking, under Firewall menu? Still not very sexy solution, but you could get it with web requests.
As an advice, i suggest you to use zeroshell only for its network purposes and manage your production data on another server
