I have a huawei EC1260 usb 3G modem .. The device not in the list of compatible 3g modems.. and when i connected the modem it is detected as a mass storage device.
And I can find a lots of question about this in the forum… 🙁
Is there any way to overcome this …

MemberIt can be switched to a modem device with the command usb_modeswitch

Membercan you please provide me a guidance to install the usb-modswitch in zero shell router..
I have no idea how install packages in the zeroshell….

LijinIt is already installed in ZS. Just run the command
usb_modeswitch --help
to see the available options.

I hit the command
usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 140b -H 1
and it is done…

MemberHave you unplugged-plugged in the usb?
What is the output of the following?ls -l /dev/ttyUSB*
ifconfig -a
Run these commands with usb plugged in.

MemberFirst i configured the modem EC168C there was no problem in configuring that device…
when i connect this modem and hit the first command still no such file or directory….
Earlier i configured a Internet and VPN connection using this modem(EC168C)….
When i tried with the new modem its not even detecting in the zeroshell. The old one still working..

MemberIt still is recognized as storage device rather than a modem. Try again with the usb_modeswitch.
