    Thanks to Fulvio advise, the problem was fixed by issuing the command:
    /etc/init.d/ldap restart

    The accounting somehow works but it does not disconnect the user once he/she reaches the maximum traffic limit. It will disconnect if I hit the refresh button.
    I am curious if you have the same problem.
